If you’ve tried to book a table in SoHo lately, you probably already know that Or'esh at 450 W Broadway is the most impossible reservation in New York right now. Since opening its doors in February 2026, this Levantine powerhouse has become an absolute sensation, with a digital waiting list that reportedly hit over 5,000 people almost overnight. It’s the latest project from the heavy hitters behind The Corner Store, but the heart and soul of the place belongs to Chef Nadav Greenberg, the Michelin-starred talent who formerly led the kitchen at Shmoné.


What sets Or'esh apart from the dozens of other Mediterranean spots in the city is its obsession with live-fire cooking. The kitchen is anchored by a massive, custom-built charcoal grill—a six-month engineering project that touches nearly 70% of the menu. This isn't your typical "pita and hummus" joint; it’s a high-end, upscale experience where the food is stripped down to its most authentic roots. A major health-conscious benefit is their "clean" approach—the kitchen strictly avoids seed oils and refined sugars, relying instead on premium early-harvest olive oil and the natural smoky depth of the coals.


If you’re lucky enough to snag a seat in the 80-seat dining room (designed by the Rockwell Group to feel like a glowing, amber-hued sanctuary), there are a few "must-orders" that locals are already obsessed with. You have to start with the Jerusalem Bagel, a warm, elongated bread served with a trio of house-made dips like mint tzatziki and tomato spread. The 77-layer Wagyu New York Strip and the Grilled Halloumi wrapped in crispy kataifi are the standout showstoppers, but even the signature Grilled Olive Martini—featuring olives stuffed with goat cheese and brushed with lamb fat—is a culinary event in itself.


The biggest challenge is actually getting through the door. Unlike most NYC restaurants, Or'esh doesn't use Resy or OpenTable. They release reservations exclusively through the DoorDash app exactly seven days in advance at 9:00 AM sharp. They are currently only open for dinner, making those prime-time slots a digital battlefield. It’s a fast-paced, high-energy, and genuinely special spot that has quickly moved into the "major leagues" of the Manhattan dining scene, proving that when you combine world-class talent with a literal open flame, people will wait weeks just for a taste.
