The park spans approximately 370 dunams of planted forest and includes an impressive artificial lake named after Shimon Peres, lawns, walking and cycling paths, accessible playgrounds, and an amphitheater. Ben Gurion Park is located in the northern part of Dimona. The park spans approximately 370 dunams of planted forest, first planted by KKL-JNF in the 1960s, likely as the fund's first desert forest. The park is a beautiful and well-kept nature spot beside the city, where you can find organized picnic areas, a stunning artificial lake, and a variety of leisure options.

In 2015, the park underwent a significant renovation and upgrade with the help of KKL-JNF and JNF Holland. At the center of the park is Dimona Lake named after Shimon Peres – an artificial lake of about 10 dunams, built in 2017 and filled with treated wastewater. Around the lake, lawns, public parks, and an amphitheater were built.

Throughout the park, there are shady spots under the many trees, scattered picnic tables, playgrounds, and many children's play facilities, including equipment adapted for people with disabilities.
